Garden shed plans are essential.  Period!

Building a garden shed can be an enjoyable task and should provide years of useful storage (as well as somewhere to shelter when you’re gardening!). Try to look for plans that give simple (but detailed) step-by-step instructions.  This is probably not going to be a project that you can make a mistake and easily start again.  Clarity is everything.  Diagrams are useful, but clear instructions about measurements and the laying out of joists are a must.

2. Make sure there is a complete materials list (preferably with prices to help you budget).

3. Make sure the floor, wall and roof plans have enough information about layout and placing of joists, skids, frames, rafters and beams.

4. Make sure the cross section is clear and gives you a picture of how all the parts fit together in relation to one another. So, you want a set of garden shed plans that break down the building work into small, manageable chunks.

In this way, what might seem like a large building project, becomes a much simpler prospect.
